Posting and Praying Is Not a Strategy: Here’s What to Do Instead

Let’s call it what it is—winging your content strategy is the fastest way to stay stuck.

We’ve all done it. You sit down, open your phone, stare at your feed for 20 minutes, finally post a product pic with a caption you wrote in the heat of “I just need to get something up today,” and then… nothing. No engagement. No leads. No sales. Just crickets and frustration.

If you’re relying on last-minute posts, random captions, and a sprinkle of hope that “this one might hit”—you’re not building a business. You’re gambling with your time.

The truth is: posting and praying is not a strategy.

It’s burnout wrapped in busywork. And it’s why so many women give up on their dreams before they ever gain momentum.

So What Is a Strategy Then?

A real strategy is simple: it’s a repeatable system that saves you time, aligns with your goals, and brings in consistent results—without draining you dry.

It doesn’t mean you have to be “on” 24/7. It means you know what’s coming next. You’re building a body of work, not spinning your wheels. You’re being intentional, not reactive.

And the best part? Once you build this kind of system, it’s duplicatable. Meaning your team can follow it too, so you’re not the only one carrying the weight.

Here’s how to start building it:

Step 1: Know What You’re Actually Selling

Yes, you sell products. But what’s the transformation?

Are you selling time freedom? Confidence? Clear skin? Energy? Flexibility for moms who want to make money without missing their kid’s game?

Your content needs to reflect why someone wants what you offer—not just what it is.

Write out 3 core results your offer creates. These are now your “content compass.”

Step 2: Plan Themes, Not Posts

Stop trying to think up new ideas every day. Instead, batch your content around themes like:

  • Before & afters/results
  • Personal lifestyle moments (your “why”)
  • Education/tips about your product
  • Testimonials & social proof
  • Empowering, belief-shifting posts

I teach this exact process inside my four-week Psych to Sell Mini Email Series, where I give you plug-and-play templates and weekly themes that align with real buyer psychology.

Step 3: Create in “Power Hours”

Set aside 1–2 sessions each week to plan and prep.

You don’t need to spend all day creating content—you just need focused blocks. Use these hours to:

  • Plan your week’s topics based on your themes
  • Use AI tools (like my own personalized gpt bot from Just Bank) to help you write and batch captions
  • Design 1–2 graphics or reels that match your message

It’s not about perfection. It’s about showing up with purpose.

Step 4: Let Your Content Work While You Live Your Life

You didn’t start a business to be glued to your phone 8 hours a day.

The right content plan lets you build trust and convert sales while you’re living your real life—whether that’s coaching a baseball game, going to church, or hitting the grocery store with your toddler in tow.

This is where automation, batching, and content systems come in. Tools like the 100 Hooks Bundle and the Story Strategies That Convert help you sell without sounding like a robot or a broken record.

And when people start DMing you with “I needed this today” or “How do I join?”, you’ll realize this is the only way to grow with your sanity intact.

The Bottom Line

If content creation has become a drain… if you’re tired of “posting and praying”… it’s not that you’re not cut out for this. It’s that you haven’t been given the tools.

But they’re here now.

Stop trying to figure it out from scratch every day.
